The Australian Curriculum sets out the core knowledge, understanding, skills and general capabilities that are important for all Australian students. It identifies what all young people should learn as they progress through schooling, and is the foundation for high quality teaching to meet the needs of all Australian students.
All students at Hilder Road State School access the following learning areas and subjects from the Australian Curriculum:
Teachers work and plan collaboratively to create units of work for students drawing from the Curriculum into the Classroom (C2C) resources and considering the specific needs of learners. All learning areas are covered across required bands and year levels, with a progressive roll-out of learning areas being reported on. Units of work are supported by quality resources and incursions/excursions, where applicable. Planning days are allocated to teachers for the purpose of planning and designing units of work. In addition to these days, Student Free Days and nominated staff meetings are utilised for the planning process to ensure teachers maintain a deep understanding of the Australian Curriculum and our Hilder Road State School Pedagogical Framework.
