Hilder Road State School opened in 1979 with three lowset classroom blocks. Since then, our school has expanded to include another permanent building and three additional relocatable teaching blocks. The majority of classroom blocks are architecturally open double-teaching spaces. In 2012, through a Smart School Subsidy Grant, concertina partitions were installed into four of these double teaching spaces to create more flexible learning spaces.
We have a large hall with line marking for indoor sports, an elevated stage and wheelchair access. This is the venue for our student-led Assembly each week. It is ideal for music concerts, plays, physical education lessons, drama, and school social and fundraising functions.
The school is set on 6.4 hectares of attractive landscaped grounds, which include an Olympic size athletic track, soccer, netball, tennis and cricket areas and practice nets. Our grounds provide excellent opportunities for outdoor learning and activities, and are regularly accessed by community sporting groups.
