The Hilder Road State School Library is a vibrant and welcoming space where
students can read, learn, play, socialise and explore under the guidance of our full-time, qualified Teacher Librarian, Ms Alyssa Kimball. It is a shared resource that belongs to the entire school community, fostering a love for learning and literacy and reading.
Students are encouraged to borrow books weekly during their scheduled class visits, with additional opportunities to borrow outside of these times. The library is open before school from 8.30am Tuesday – Friday, and during first break Monday – Friday.
Our extensive collection includes thousands of books spanning fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels and picture books, offering all students a world of adventure, humour, wonder and intrigue, along with information and facts. The library is also a place for collaboration, creativity, and relaxation, where students can enjoy games, drawing and craft, or simply, a comfortable space to read. We welcome student suggestions to enhance the usability and enjoyment of this space.
Equipped with upgraded WiFi, Touchboard, a class set of laptops, and two separate teaching zones, our refurbished library provides flexible learning environments for Prep - Year 6 classes. With the support and experience of our Information Technology Teacher and ICT Support Staff, this space supports students and teachers in achieving curriculum goals while developing essential 21st-century skills.

The Magic of Reading at home – Online Resource
Hilder Road State School provides students with access to our online Library Management System, Concord Infiniti, which allows families to explore the catalogue and reserve books from home.
