For more than 10 years, Hilder Road State School has engaged in different forms of BYOD (bring your own device) iPad programs across a number of year levels. Currently the school runs BYOD classrooms in Years 4, 5 and 6.
Facilitating an iPad program in primary schools enhances learning by allowing students to engage with personalized technology in a way that fosters creativity, independence, and collaboration. iPads offer a wide range of educational apps and tools that can cater to diverse learning styles, helping students develop digital literacy from an early age. With a BYOD program, children also become more responsible for their learning, gaining valuable skills in managing and using technology safely and effectively. It encourages seamless integration of technology into everyday learning, preparing students for the future while maintaining personal access through an individual device.
The school also has a significant number of classroom devices available for use by lower school students and teachers to foster ICT capability and the integration of technology into learning from the early years.
