At Hilder Road State School, the Performing Arts are a vibrant and valued part of school life, with Music at the heart of our program.
All learners participate in weekly classroom music lessons, delivered by specialist teachers who are passionate about developing creativity, confidence and self-expression. Through engaging, hands-on experiences, students build their understanding of key musical elements such as beat, rhythm, pitch, singing, movement, listening, composing and playing instruments.
Our classrooms are equipped with a wide range of instruments, allowing learners to actively explore and create music rather than simply learn about it. This practical approach ensures that every child, regardless of prior experience, can participate, succeed and grow.
Drama and Dance are also delivered by specialist teachers, ensuring our learners receive a full and balanced Performing Arts education. These programs work in harmony with our Music curriculum and play a significant role in our much-anticipated school musical productions, where students shine both on stage and behind the scenes.
