Developed in partnership with The Gap Netball Club, the Academy aims to provide high-quality coaching, development opportunities and competitive pa
thways for young netballers within our school community.
The Netball Academy has been designed to support learners who are passionate about netball and eager to further develop their skills, teamwork and game understanding. Through structured coaching and training experiences, students will strengthen not only their physical abilities, but also their confidence, leadership and sportsmanship.
The Academy reflects Hilder Road State School's commitment to creating opportunities that allow every child to shine in an area they love. Whether learners are aspiring representative players or simply passionate about being part of a team, the program aims to nurture talent while fostering enjoyment, belonging and positive connections through sport.

Through weekly training sessions and development opportunities, Academy participants will build skills across a range of areas, including:

Academy Opportunities
As part of the Academy program, selected learners may have opportunities to represent Hilder Road State School in a range of school and community-based competitions and gala days throughout the year. The Academy also aims to provide clear development pathways through its partnership with The Gap Netball Club and the broader Netball Queensland community.
Training & Participation
The Academy will initially focus on students in Years 5 and 6, with weekly training sessions operating throughout Terms 2 and 3. The 2026 season will act as a foundation year as the program establishes strong structures, gathers feedback and continues to grow.
